COIMBATORE: Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress of ‘enacting a drama’ over the Cauvery water issue, Tamil Maanila Congress President G.K. Vasan on Saturday urged Chief Minister Edappadi Palaiswami to lead an all party delegation to Delhi to meet Prime Minister on the issue.
“Though both BJP and Congress fight on other issues in Karnataka, they both have adopted a same stand on releasing Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. It is evident from the statements made by Karnataka Irrigation Minister M.B. Patil and former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddiyurappa,” Vasan told reporters here.
“The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister should lead an all-party delegation and meet the Prime Minister to find a solution to the issue. More than one lakh farmers are suffering without water in Delta region,” he added.
On NEET, the TMC leader said that there appeared to be confusion again over the issue, which should be immediately clarified.
Asked about the alliance for the local body or Assembly elections, Vasan said that it will be decided at the time of elections and will be taken after eliciting opinion from party cadres.
