The trial run of the much awaited Coimbatore-Bengaluru, UDAY Double Decker was conducted on Thursday morning.
The train, with an engine and three coaches, was run between Tirupattur in Vellore district and Coimbatore.
“On August 11, the trial rake will start from Coimbatore and will have stoppages at Coimbatore North, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem and reach Tirupattur. In return direction, the train will start from Tirupathur and reach Salem. On August 12 the rake will start from Salem and will have stoppages at Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore North and reach Coimbatore,” said in press release from the Salem Division of Southern Railways.
All technical aspects from the point of view of engineering, mechanical, electrical would be checked during the trial run. After successful completion of these preliminary trials, a full trial with a full rake would be carried out at a later date, it added.
