Chief Minister shows continued improvement: Apollo Hospitals

Maintaining that there is continued improvement in the chief minister’s health, Apollo Hospitals on Sunday night officially announced that it had obtained an expert opinion from the UK for a detailed treatment plan for J Jayalalithaa.

Apollo Hospitals COO Subbiah Viswanathan, in his latest bulletin, said that chief minister, who is undergoing treatment, continues to improve.

“Apollo hospital also obtained an expert opinion from Dr Richard Beale, an international specialist and consultant from the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, who was flown in from the UK on September 30,” he said.

According to him, Dr Beale examined the chief minister, evaluated the various clinical reports of Jayalaithaa and had detailed discussions with the expert group of doctors treating her and concurred with the present line of management.

“Based on the detailed discussions with the expert group of doctors and with Dr Beale, the current treatment plan including appropriate antibiotics and other allied clinical measures are presently being continued to treat infection,” Subbiah said. “The chief minister is responding well to the treatment given to her and she has been advised a few more days stay in the hospital.”
