COIMBATORE: Coimbatoreans and people of Kongu region are all set to witness a gala musical event on April 14 night. The event, partnered by Coimbatore’s leading English online news portal The Covai Post, is to be organised jointly by Tie-up Events and Pulse Entertainment. Playback singer Krishna Iyer from Kollywood who has enthralled the audience will be performing live with his band for the first time in Coimbatore.

Having travelled across the globe and worked with notable musical personalities from the Tamil industry like drummer Sivamani, Harris Jayraj, GV Prakash and Shankar Mahadevan, he shot into limelight with the song `En Uchimandai’ from the movie `Vettaikaaran’ in 2009 which topped charts for several weeks and the most recent one being Google from `Thuppakki’ which he sung alongside actor Vijay.

He has starred in several star night shows and TV programmes to his credit. At a press conference here he said old melodies, classical hits of Illayaraja and a few Hindi songs, would be sung in an improvised manner at the event.

He also mentioned a word about the young and rising sensation singer Priya Jerson of Airtel Super singer fame who is also expected to perform at the event, which will be hosted by renowned magician Vignesh Prabhu known for his ability to fly above 160ft. Vignesh has performed thousands of shows over the last 14 years and is also popularly known as the `Flying Man of India’.
