Coimbatore : Nine-year-old sniffer dog Diana, attached to the City Police and was instrumental in solving many theft and narcotic cases, died here on Thursday.

The labrador retriever breed had been serving the police team for the last eight years and died due to age-related ailments, police said.

The dog had received gold medals during police duty meets and also the best performance award.

Diana was buried on the City Police Commissioner’s office premises with full honors, with senior police officials paying floral tributes.
