Demonstrating the real-world fuel efficiency of its advanced hybrid technology, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. successfully conducted a large-scale Hybrid Mileage Challenge in Coimbatore on Saturday, drawing enthusiastic participation from customers and their families.
The event was organized in association with Yamaha’s authorized dealerships, CAG Enterprises and RP Agencies, and provided participants an opportunity to test the performance and fuel economy of Yamaha’s hybrid-powered motorcycles and scooters under actual riding conditions.
Yamaha’s hybrid technology integrates a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS), designed to improve fuel efficiency while reducing emissions. The system offers silent engine starts, electric-assisted acceleration, and automatic engine shut-off during idle stops, helping riders achieve better mileage and a smoother riding experience.
For the challenge, carefully planned routes covering approximately 62 km for motorcycles and 34 km for scooters were selected. The routes included a mix of urban roads, traffic-congested stretches, and open highways, allowing participants to evaluate vehicle performance in real-world conditions.
To ensure accuracy and transparency, all vehicles were refueled using a standardized procedure before and after the ride, with fuel consumption data meticulously recorded and verified.
