Coimbatore : A total 333 teams from various colleges across the country are expected to participate in a robotic process automation (RPA) hackathon contest to be held here in the end of January.

The 36-hour ‘ThinkAHack’, being organised by UiPath, one of the fastest growing enterprise software companies, and KG Information Systems here, is to encourage development of cutting-edge technology and talent identification. KGISL managing director Ashok Bhakthavatsalam and UiPath CEO Raghu Subramanian told mediapersons here on Monday that the hackathon would provide a great opportunity for young talents to work with these companies and bring together intelligent minds and experience mentorship from industry experts.

“We are planning to facilitate an arena for hacking, designing, tinkering and sharing of ideas aimed at around 1,000 plus creative developers, designers and ideators from various backgrounds,” Raghu said.

The participants, in teams of three members, would have to go through a UiPath certificate course, free of cost, which would help them get familiarised with the UiPath RPA tool that would be used at the hackathon, he said.

The participants would form groups, transform, discuss, impart ideas and aid each other in developing innovative and smart projects completely based on RPA, Ashok said.

The date of the contest would be announced later and the winning team would get Rs 2 lakh, runners-up Rs 1 lakh and the three top teams Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000.
