A man who lodged a complaint that stones were being hurled on his house for the last 45 days, himself landed up in custody in Udhagamandalam.

Mohan had lodged a complaint that residents of Kodappamand were facing a peculiar problem in that stones were falling on top of their houses for the last 45 days, police said.

Based on the complaints, police started investigating but could not succeed in solving the case.

Police managed to nab two persons moving in the area in a suspicious manner last night and took them for questioning. On their confession, Mohan and another two persons were taken into custody, they said.

Interrogation revealed that one Simon had constructed two new houses in the area and Mohan was jealous and played a trick of hurling stones on the houses so that nobody would occupy the houses on rent, they said.

Mohan and his four friends were arrested and remanded to custody and accordingly three persons were lodged in Coimbatore and two other in Gudalur Jails, police said.
