Cop suspended for creating nuisance in a drunken state

A police constable attached to Pollachi Taluk Station placed under suspension, for allegedly creating public nuisance under the influence of liquor.

According to police sources, Anandakumar was on duty at Ramapattinam check post last night and was picking up quarrels with the fellow cops in an inebriated state. Even in the morning he continued his prank and he continued to create public nuisance despite being warned by the fellow cops on duty.

Based on the complaints of eyewitnesses, Anandkumar, was dancing in the middle of the road under the influence of alcohol. This was reported to the higher officials by the public. It may be noted that he was earlier warned by the DSP of the same area for having created ruckus in a drunken stupor.

Based on information, Superintendent of Police, Dr M Sudhakar has placed the constable under suspension, pending inquiry, police said
