Corpn Commissioner chairs monsoon preparedness meeting

Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan on Tuesday held discussion with officials of the civic body on the monsoon preparedness.
According to a press release, the Commissioner sought details on the availability of necessary equipment and other gadgets for rescue operations in case of heavy rains, floods and inundation of low lying areas. The meeting also discussed the steps to check the possible spread of diseases such as dysentery and fever.
The general public were also issued certain guidelines to be followed during the rainy season like to drink only boiled and protected water, prevent water stagnation.
Deputy Commissioner P. Gandhimathi and other officials attended the meeting.
