Cutting across party affiliations, Rajinikanth Fans today celebrated the Super Star’s announcement of his entry into politics by bursting crackers and performing rituals in temples.

Immediately after the announcement, a group of fans thronged the Koniyamman Temple, the presiding deity of the city and a few performed “angapradakshinam” (lying prostrate and rolling around) and celebrated the decision of their ‘Thalaiva’ to form a party.

With over 500 fans clubs across the city, the first task of the office bearers was to bring the fans, cutting across their party affiliation, under the political outfit, the fans at the temple said.

The celebrations confined not only to the fan club members, but others belonging to all political parties, DMK, Congress, Tamil Maanila Congress and BJP, who were also the fans of Rajinikanth and to make him a strong force in Tamil Nadu, they said.

Meanwhile, Hindu Makkal Katchi president, Arjun Sampath welcomed the entry into politics, particularly the spiritual side and contest
all the 234 seats in Tamil Nadu.

This was the long cherished dream of the people of the State to bring in a change in Tamil Nadu politics, he said in a statement.
