With Election Commission failing to prevent the distribution of money in the recently concluded R K Nagar bypoll, the democracy in the State has bowed its head in shame, the TN Toddy Movement said over the victory of the sidelined AIADMK rebel.

Money has played a major role in the victory, it is only rigid to say that the voters had voted for money and only a few voted according to their conscience, the movement convenor, C Nallasamy told reporters here.

Stating that the movement was not ready to accept such a victory, he challenged Dhinakaran to come and argue with the movement and prove that toddy is an intoxicating drink and not food as proved by the movement.

Nallasamy also urged the one-man Arumugamsamy commission to expedite the inquiry with regard to the death of former chief minister,
Jayalalithaa, to put an end to denigrating and derogatory remarks, including the claims by a woman that she was her daughter.

On 2G scam, Nallasamy said that both A Raja and Kanimozhi should file a defamation case against the former CAG, on whose report they had undergone jail terms, so that they can come unscathed and remain clean in public life.
