Kochi: Incarcerated actor Dileep, accused of plotting abduction and abuse of a popular actor, was on Saturday permitted to carry out rituals on his father’s death anniversary on August 6 outside the jail.

The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court before which he had made the plea directed the police to make all security arrangements for this.

Dileep should be brought back to Aluva Sub jail the same day after the rituals were over, the court said.

The ceremony is planned in his house and on the banks of Periyar river at Aluva. He said in his plea that he had been observing this for the past seven years.

The Prosecution described this false as he did not attend the function last year even as he was only camping at Thrissur which is not far off from Aluva.

The Prosecution also presented digital evidence to prove that he was in Thrissur. The Prosecution argued that it was not proper to allow him to go out of the jail as it would adversly impact the case.

Meanwhile, his wife actor Kavya Madhavan, his daughter Meenakshi, Kavya Madhavan’s father Madhavan met Dileep in the jail.

Actor and his close friend Nadirsha also met him.
