The DMK today dismissed three district secretaries where the party performed poorly during the recent elections.

The party general secretary, K. Anbazhagan, said action had been taken against secretaries of Coimbatore, Namakkal east and Tirunelveli districts. It has appointed former minister M. Muthusamy, P. Elangovan and S. Padmanabhan as district secretaries of Coimbatore, Namakkal and Tirunelveli respectively.

According to a senior party functionary there were several complaints against the sacked members. “We lost as they did not work to the expected level during the elections,” a cadre complained.
