An AIADMK councilor and a DMK worker have been hospitalised in Pollachi, following a fight over the remarks over the health condition of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa.

According to police, a DMK local functionary, Lingadurai reportedly spoke ill about the health condition of Jayalalithaa, under influence of liquor last night in Pollachi.

The AIADMK councilor, James Raj, who was passing by, got angry and the two entered into an argument, leading to fisticuffs. Lingadurai got himself admitted to the Pollachi Government Hospital in the early hours of today, claiming assault by the councilor. James followed suit and also got admitted to the same hospital, complaining that Lingadurai had assaulted him and spoke ill of the Chief Minister, police said.
