Owing to the statewide protest carried out by the Government Doctors in Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore District Administration had postponed the free medical camp for journalists here.

The district administration had announced that a free camp would be conducted for journalists from Coimbatore on Thursday in the Collectorate and had also called on the family members of journalists to make use of the opportunity.

However, situations changed after the Chennai High Court’s ruling on the 50 per cent reservations. Doctors from all over the State protested demanding a special ordinance for the 50 per cent service quota.

Since protest continued till Thursday, Collectorate in a statement has said that the medical camp would be postponed to another date.
