Dry Day violation, 68 arrested

About 68 persons were arrested from various parts of the district for violating the no-alcohol-sale orders on Independence Day. More than 650 bottles of liquor were seized from them.
With Independence Day being a dry day as far as sale of alcohol is concerned, the administration had ordered the closure of all liquor outlets. Police maintained strict vigil. While 27 persons were arrested in the city, 41 were picked up from the rural areas for selling liquor.
