Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here today kick started "earn while you learn" for the 3rd year students.

 The programme connected to a UG practical course, popularly called " student plot cultivation of rice," teach the nuances of crop production at the wetlands of department of agronomy in the University. System of Rice Intensification consisting of,young and single seedlings, square planting, alternate wetting and drying, operation of conoweeder, LCC (leaf colour chart) based nitrogen application are implemented to inculcate the concept of more crop per drop of water in student plot cultivation.

 Each student will be given 5 cents of land in wetland farm and the entire operations will be handled by the individual and the profit will be given to the individual students  As many as 120 students are involved the transplanting operation, which was inaugurated by TNAU Vice–Chancellor Dr. N. Kumar.
