Eighty year old ailing prisoner dies in CMCH

An 83-year old life term prisoner died in the Government Hospital on Saturday after a brief illness.

Ramasamy, a resident of Rakkipalayam in Tirupur district, was convicted and sentenced for life imprisonment in connection with a murder in 2010 and lodged in the Central prison here.

The octogenarian was admitted to the Government Hospital, with complaint of lungs on September 13 and without responding to treatment, he died this morning.
