Coimbatore, Aug 6th – *Rao Hospital successfully conducted “Breastfeeding & Beyond”, a special awareness program held on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 at the hospital premises in RS Puram. Organised in collaboration with Rotary Aakruti, FICCI Flo Coimbatore, and Coimbatore Penta Ladies Circle No.37, the event focused on educating new and expectant mothers on the importance of breastfeeding and early nutrition.

The morning featured insightful talks by the hospital’s in-house experts, Dr. K.S. Krishnasamy, Neonatologist & Paediatrician, and Mrs. Baby Shree, Lactation Consultant & Child Nutrition Expert. Their sessions covered essential breastfeeding practices, addressed common myths, and included a special segment on navigating the transition to solid foods. The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout, with an interactive quiz and active participation from expectant mothers, new moms, and their families. Each attending mother also received a thoughtfully curated gift to support their journey. “Breastfeeding is the first step to lifelong health. Empowering mothers with the right information makes all the difference,” said Dr. K.S. Krishnasamy during his address.

Dr. Asha Rao, Medical Director and Chief Consultant – Fertility and ObGyn at Rao Hospital, and District Chair for Rotary’s Maternal and Child Health Project, shared, “Through education and support, we aim to build confidence in mothers during the most important phase of their child’s development.” In attendance were Rotary dignitaries including District Director Rtn. Sampathkumar, Rotary Aakruthi President, Mrs. Madhu Kannan
,Ms. Aparna Sunku, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Coimbatore and team ,Cr. Kadambari, Chairperson of Coimbatore and team lending their support to the cause of maternal and child health.

The event concluded with the inauguration of Rao Hospital’s newly renovated cafeteria – a thoughtfully designed space where patients, visitors, and staff can enjoy fresh flavours and a moment of comfort amidst care.
