Nallasivam, a 44-year-old farmer of Vadugapalayam was asked to collect his smart card from Sungaramadaku ration shop. His wife Sumathi, who went to collect it last Saturday was surprised to find that instead of her husband’s photograph there was one of Lord Ganesha, police said today.

Since there were many people in the queue at the ration shop, she did not cross check the card. She noticed only when she got back home.

However the names of the card holder and other dependents were in order.

When Sumathi went to enquire about the anomaly, the shopkeeper directed her to approach the e-Service Centre and get the photograph changed.
