FICCI -TANCARE Award for KG Hospital chief

The Chairman of KG Hospital, Dr. G. Bakthavatsalam, has been conferred with the the FICCI-TANCARE Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his distinguished services in the health care sector.
The award, carrying a citation, was presented to Bakthavatsalam by Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Radhakrishnan at the 10th edition of the TANCARE-2017 (Tamil Nadu Healthcare Conference), on Friday at Chennai.
Bakthavathsalam was also asked to participate in a panel discussion on the topic “Making Tamil Nadu a leading Global Medical Tourism destination” to ascertain his valuable thoughts on how to give a thrust to medical tourism, a Hospital release said today.
In his acceptance speech, Bakthavatsalam said that next to Padma Shri Award, bestowed upon him by the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the FICCI—TANCARE Lifetime Achievement Award was a great honour done to him.
He deemed the award as an honour given not to an individual but to the whole of medical fraternity by an industrial body like the FICCI, the release said.
