Udhagamandalam: After remaining closed for three days as a mark of respect for the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa who passed away on December 5, all the educational institutions in the Nilgiris reopened on Friday.

In many of them the day began with the students including tiny tots and teachers offering prayers and paying floral tributes to portraits of Ms.Jayalalithaa. Her contribution to the development of various sectors in general and the education field in particular was eulogized.
