Free breast and cervical cancer screening camp held for Queen and Princess Coimbatore contestants

Rao Hospital, a leading maternity, fertility, and laparoscopy centre in Coimbatore, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Coimbatore, the city’s oldest Rotary club, conducted a free breast and cervical cancer screening camp for 22 contestants of the Fashion Collective show on Friday at Merlis Hotel, Goldwins, on Avinashi Road.
A press meeting was held at the hotel premises regarding the screening camp. Dr. Harshini, Gynecologist at Rao Hospital; Reshma Srijay, Founder Director of Fashion Collective; Chitra Manohar, President of the Rotary Club of Coimbatore; Rajalakshmi, Pageant Director; and Sabari Sabthami, Event Director, addressed the press.
Fashion Collective Coimbatore is the organiser of the prestigious Queen and Princess Coimbatore 2026 pageants, featuring 22 shortlisted women from Coimbatore.
The initiative focused on creating awareness about breast and cervical cancer prevention, early detection, and screening among women. It aimed to encourage women to prioritise preventive healthcare and undergo regular screening.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Harshini shared important insights on breast and cervical cancer awareness, preventive measures, and the significance of routine screening for early diagnosis and effective treatment.
Speaking about the initiative, the organisers emphasised that beauty platforms today have a responsibility to create positive social impact and influence communities towards meaningful causes.
The contestants would serve as ambassadors of awareness, helping to spread vital information about the importance of early detection and timely medical intervention.
To be noted, Actress Hansika Motwani has also voiced her support for the initiative and extended her encouragement towards promoting awareness about breast and cervical cancer screening.
This collaborative effort between Fashion Collective Coimbatore, Rao Hospital, and the Rotary Club of Coimbatore aims to encourage women across the region to take proactive steps towards their health and well-being through awareness, education, and early screening, according to a press release issued by the organisers.
