The two-day long sixth edition of Go Glam Shopping is all set to be inaugurated on October 24. On display are a plethora of products like home decor, apparels and accessories among others. 45 stalls are participating this time.

Go Glam Shopping is the brainchild of Heena Rahul, the Coimbatore-based entrepreneur. Heena had a tough time selling dress materials that she sourced from the North, at the exhibitions and trade shows that were held in the city. “I had to pay huge amounts as stall rent. Many times, the rent was higher than the money that I had earned from the sales,” she said. It was then that Heena decided to host an exhibition that only displayed products that were made and sold by home-based entrepreneurs.

Go Glam Shopping attracts participants from all over the country. Stall rent is comparatively affordable at Rs.15,000 for an eight by eight cubicle. The concept is simple – minimum investment from the vendors and maximum returns from sales. “I like to charge my vendors just the minimum. This has encouraged participation from vendors across the country,” she says. The first edition of Go Glam Shopping was held in October 2013. It was a phenomenal success.

The venue for the sixth edition of Go Glam Shopping is The Residency, Coimbatore. Entry is free. Go Glam Shopping festival is on October 24 and 25, between 10 am to 8 pm.
