Gym opened at Coimbatore central prison

A gym was opened in the Coimbatore central prison today, for the prison workers.
Prison workers undergo a lot of stress due to the nature of their work and the workplace. Yoga and meditation sessions are being conducted for their benefit. In order to maintain the physical wellness of the workers, a gymnasium was inaugurated today at the Coimbatore central prison, by Mohammed Haneefa, Prison Zone Vice President.
Later, he told the press that gym equipment worth Rs.75,000 have been purchased in the first phase. There are plans to further expand the gym. He added that an exclusive gym for women workers in the prison premises will soon be opened.
