Members of the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary School Head Masters Association staged a demonstration in Thanjavur today urging the government to allow the head masters, promoted last year, to participate in the counselling for transfers.
Led by the association’s district president, Pandian, they staged the demonstration in front of the office of chief educational officer. The association state general secretary, A Ramesh, district secretary Sekar, district vice-president Vadivel spoke on the occasion.
They urged the State Government to make public the report of Karunakaran Committee constituted to provide promotion for head masters, and urged the education department to conduct the counselling for head masters’ transfer in a transparent manner and based on the committee report.
They also appealed to the Government to appoint a special officer to implement the government schemes for students since their “routine work is getting affected” as they have been assigned to take care of implementation of the schemes.
