Kozhikode: A 30-year old woman bobbitised her husband Irshad, 26, in a lodge in Kuttipuram in Malappuram near here. The woman is believed to have done this after coming to know that Irshad was going to marry another woman.

The accused of Perumbavoor in Ernakulam has been arrested by police on charges of attempt to murder. Irshad is her second husband and she had married him about six months back. She is a mother of two through her first husband.

Khairunissa had owned up the crime but Irshad had disputed it saying that he had done it himself. Later, the arrest was registered on the basis of the statement of the lodge manager.
