Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar exhorted the people to change the lifestyle and habits to become healthier. Addressing the gathering at the conclusion of Isha Rejuvenation Camp organised by Isha Foundation in Coimbatore, he expressed serious concerns about the rising number of diabetics in India.

“This (India becoming the diabetic capital of the world) is not something that I’m proud of. We have to change our lifestyle and habits to make the nation healthier and fitter,” he said.

Stating that outdoor activities and sports are the simplest ways of becoming fitter and healthier, he said, “Once you take care of your health, the nation will become healthy.”

“I want to see a healthier and fitter India,” Sachin said, and shared his grandmother’s favourite saying, “She used to tell me to take care of my health because health is true wealth. Healthier life will give you better results and consistent performance, no matter what profession you are in. The fitter you are, more consistent you will be.”
