Kavin Prasanna, an 18-year-old IIT aspirant from the City, who has been undergoing IIT-JEE coaching for over a year has set a record by clearing the CA-Common Proficiency Test (CPT) examinations, even though the two streams are totally unrelated to each other.

Kavin has cleared CA-CPT by scoring 175 out of 200 and with an overall 87.5 %, which helped him to secure a distinction.

“When things don’t work for the IIT, many students give up their dream and opt for regular engineering courses but Kavin was different. He chose Charted Accountancy, which is totally unrelated to his current curriculum and won laurels too,” said Karthikeyan, a charted accountant, also the co-founder of Virtus Academy.

“Kavin joined our academy to get his basics in accountancy before opting for CA, as Virtus Academy conducts basic accountancy classes for non-commerce students in its Coimbatore branch,” he said.

Kavin, who was taking IIT- JEE classes, returned to Coimbatore from Chennai to undergo basic accountancy classes as they are conducted only at at Coimbatore.

“Kavin has clearly demonstrated that hard work and dedication can get the desired results even if you are from totally unrelated background,” Karthikeyan added.
