In Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu is robbing the poor to pay the rich: YSR Congress

Chennai: Ruling Telugu Desam party in neighboring Andhra Pradesh is under a spot of bother with allegations of robbing the poor and paying the rich. The modus operandi of people from ruling party is very simple – acquire land from the poor for a pittance and sell it to the rich at exorbitant prices, as per the allegations levelled by the opposition YSR Congress.

Incidentally, local BJP unit has declared that it would team up with the YSR Congress in cornering the TDP for its leaders activities across the state. Only a CBI investigation can bring out the truth as officials, local leaders, ministers and top TDP leadership have a role in the multi-crore scam spread across various mandals of the district, said YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy.

He alleged that the TDP leadership was getting the state government officials to tamper with the records and some of the records have vanished from the Collector’s Office and everything is being worked out according to a plan to scare away the poor rightful owners forcing them to sell their land at throwaway prices and the rich. The rich are then selling the same land at exorbitant rates earning crores of rupees, he alleged.

Assigned lands and government lands are being taken away from the beneficiaries belonging to weaker sections in the name of land pooling for a very nominal price and the same is being sold at a very high price making crores of rupees in the process, he alleged. The revenue records are being tampered with and in some cases the records are said to be missing. Even the Vishakapatnam district collector, who happens to have served in various capacities in the district, has announced that some of the records have gone missing in the Hudud Cylone.

‘I stayed here for 11 days after the Hudud Cyclone. There was gale and rains but not to the extent of washing away the records from strong room of the Collectors Office,” said YSR Congress chief.

He went onto allege that it was due to Chandrababu Naidu that former MP MVVS Murthy could grab 55 acres of land in Rishikonda that belonged to weaker sections and his plea to convert it in his name was cleared by cabinet within no time and the cost of the land runs into Rs 1,000 crore. The former MP has also occupied illegally 7 acres of land given by YSR under Rajiv Gruha Yojana, Jaganmohan Reddy alleged. The land worth is Rs 100 crore.

Assigned land in Bhimili and Pendurthi mandals were taken away from weaker sections by Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy and other leaders paying just Rs 10 lakh per acre and has a value of Rs 2 crore per acre now, he alleged.

The chief minister’s son, he alleged, had a hand in every deal and gets his share, Jaganmohan Reddy alleged.

Documents are being created online and are pawned or sold at higher rates which shows that TDP is pursuing the policy of rob the poor and pay the rich, he alleged. Bhogapuram airport is being built by land acquisition and surprisingly all the lands of TDP leaders falling on the wayside are saved but the poor man’s land is being acquired by GOs, coercion and other means, the opposition leader alleged calling for a CBI probe into the whole affair.

He also said that he will fight this injustice and join the struggle of the poor landowners and promised that if he became the chief minister, every inch of land would be accounted for.
