Indian Medical Association Awards Presented to Prominent Women Excelling in Medicine and Public Service

The Women Doctor’s Wing of Indian Medical Association (IMA) , Coimbatore Branch recently organized the Women’s Day celebrations..
Mrs. Vanathi Srinivasan, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Coimbatore South constituency, and Dr. S. Karthik Prabhu, Immediate Past State Secretary of IMA Tamil Nadu, attended the event as special guests.
Dr. B. Koshal Ram, President, IMA Coimbatore Chapter, delivered the welcome address and spoke of the significant role played by Women Doctors in IMA. Secretary Dr. P. Parameswaran provided an overview of the Association’s activities. Dr. Anusha, Chairperson of the IMA Coimbatore Women Doctors’ Wing, presented a report detailing the Women wing’s operations and social service initiatives.
Speaking at the event, Coimbatore South MLA Ms. Vanathi Srinivasan stressed the need for women to take care of their health. She highlighted various welfare schemes being implemented by the Union Government for the advancement of women’s health and commended the various initiatives for women’s health awareness, preventive screening, etc. Awards were presented to honor 67 prominent women-including, Medical Professionals, Entrepreneurs and Individuals excelling in public service-for their outstanding achievements. Concluding the program, Dr. Harini, Secretary of the Women Doctors’ Wing, delivered the vote of thanks.
Treasurer Dr. Balamurugan and several other dignitaries of IMA participated in the programme.
