INL, PFI demand arrest of BJP activist in Coimbatore

Coimbatore : Indian National League (INL) today sought stringent action against a BJP functionary for posting blasphemous remarks about Prophet Mohammed on social media.

According to police, a group of INL workers submitted a petition to the City Police Commissioner against Kalyanaraman and some others who responded with ‘likes’ and sought his arrest under National Security Act.

They also threatened to stage demonstrations in front of BJP offices in Tamil Nadu if police failed to take immediate action, police said..

A similar petition was submitted by Popular Front of India, seeking stringent action against the BJP functionary as the issue might lead to communal tension.
