Jallikattu kills two injures 40 in Pudukottai

Pudukottai: Two persons were killed and over 40 injured during a Jallikattu event organised at Raapoosal village near Pudukottai today.

The two, identified as Raja (35) of Okkur and Mohan (30) of Peramanur, sustained serious injuries in the abdomen when they tried to tame the bulls that rushed out of the ‘vaadivasal’.

They were rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital in Tiruchi in an ambulance. However, they died even before they reached the hospital.

Earlier, State Health Minister K. Vijaya Bhaskar has inaugurated the Jallikattu event in which over 50 bulls took part.
