Jayalalithaa pays floral tributes to party founder MGR

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo, Jayalalithaa today paid floral tributes to the portrait of party founder, late M G Ramachandran, as part of celebrating party’s 44th Formation day, here.

Jayalalithaa, staying at Kodanadu, Nilgiris District, arrived amidst tight security and went straight to the stage, near the statue of MGR, as the late CM was affectionately called and paid rose petal tribute on his photograph and
hoisted party flag.

She released a souvenir, as part of the function brought out by minister, R Udyayakumar. Jayalalithaa also handed over appointment orders to five persons in the private sector, on the occasion. However, a large number of party workers and crowd present there were disappointed as the chief minister did not address them.

Meanwhile, the vehicular traffic from Mettupalayam to Kothagiri was closed due to the function till 12 noon.
