Kerala, Sharjah to look at joint projects

Kozhikkode:Kerala and Sharjah on Monday explored the scope of working jointly in different fields.The Kerala team headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented a seven-point programme to the ruler Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammed Al Qasimi in Thiruvananthapuram.

These include a family housing project for NRIs on a 10-acre land, international education plan with schools and engineering and medical colleges, a cultural centre with museum, ayurveda-based medical tourism and stage to showcase various programmes. All these are proposed in Sharjah.

It also envisages of special medical tourism based on ayurveda in Kerala, cooperation in IT and tourism where the state has planned an investment of Rs 50,000 crore in the next four years.The visitor attended a feast organised by Governor P Sadasivam.

Qasimi will participate in programmes in Kochi on September 27 before leaving for Sharjah on September 28 after his five-day trip.
