The 3rd Tamil Nadu Medical & Pediatric Oncology Society (TAMPOS) Conference successfully concluded its three-day scientific program held from March 20 to 22, 2026, at Hotel Le Meridien, Coimbatore. Organized in collaboration with Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH), the event served as a practice-defining platform for oncology professionals across the region.

The scientific agenda focused on delivering updates in Medical Oncology, critically examining landmark international clinical trials and evidence-based treatment algorithms. A central theme of the 2026 meeting was the integration of advanced immunotherapeutic and cellular strategies, including:

• CAR T-cell Therapy: Detailed sessions on patient selection, patient preparation, and toxicity management.
• Bispecific T-cell Engagers (BiTEs): Focused workshops on their application in treating Lymphoma and Myeloma.
• Precision Medicine: A master class on NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) interpretation for solid tumors.

Senior Doctors, Faculties and students from across Tamil Nadu participated in moderated panel discussions covering major malignancies. Solid Tumors: Comprehensive updates on Colorectal, Gynecological, Head & Neck, Lung, and Breast cancers. Hematologic Malignancies: In-depth reviews of the latest trials in Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma.

Beyond clinical lectures, the conference fostered scholarly engagement through TAMPOS Gold Medal Exam, a competitive platform for postgraduates overseen by esteemed examiners; Oncology Quiz, a rigorous competition culminating in a final round on the concluding day and Research Presentations, the top five posters were selected for oral paper presentations to showcase local research.

*CME on Radiotherapy in Prostate Cancer*

As part of the TAMPOS 2026 proceedings, the CORE – AROI (TN & PY) Chapter, in association with KMCH, hosted a dedicated Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled “Radiotherapy in Prostate Cancer: From Prediction to Precision” on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, from 9 AM to 5 PM at Hotel Le Méridien, Coimbatore. The program addressed the growing global challenge of prostate cancer, with the Lancet Commission projecting incidences to nearly double by 2040. The CME aimed to bridge the gap in structured training for modern radiotherapy techniques among oncology professionals and post-graduate students.

In his inaugural message, Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman & Managing Director of KMCH emphasized the privilege of hosting the prestigious meeting and welcomed colleagues to engage in a rigorous scientific exchange. Dr. Arun N. Palaniswami, Executive Director, KMCH, highlighted the technological shift in treatment, emphasizing that by providing hands-on workshops and live demonstrations of online adaptive RT, the program aimed to enhance the confidence of practitioners in delivering precision care to their patients.
