KMCH Institute of Health Sciences and Research (KMCH IHSR), established in 2019 under the aegis of Kovai Medical Center and Hospital Limited (KMCH), has rapidly emerged as a leading medical college in Tamil Nadu. KMCH is the first corporate hospital in India to start a medical college.

Affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, the institution currently has an annual intake of 150 students in its MBBS course and 39 post graduates in 10 departments.

Pursuing the mission of providing world-class patient care, education, and training, KMCH IHSR aims to develop highly trained, skilled, competent, and compassionate medical professionals by creating an environment that provides excellent learning opportunities with infrastructure and facilities that support student learning and overall growth. A 750-bed hospital, the KMCH Medical College Hospital, is integrated with the medical college, providing extensive practical exposure.

*KMCH IHSR proudly hosted its second Graduation Day ceremony for the MBBS 2020-2026 batch on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the auditorium of Dr. N.G.P. Arts & Science College, Kalappati Road, Coimbatore.*

In his address *Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman & Managing Director, KMCH* remarked: “To witness our second batch fills our hearts with immense pride and hope. These young minds are the torchbearers of patient-centric healthcare. Their journey begins here, equipped with the knowledge, a strong foundation in ethics, empathy and values instilled by KMCH, and I am confident they will make a profound difference in the lives of countless patients. This second graduation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in medical education and patient care.”

The ceremony was graced by *Padma Shri Dr. Ravi Kannan, R., Director, Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Center (CCHRC) Assam, as the esteemed Chief Guest.* Addressing the graduating class, Dr. Ravi Kannan emphasized the profound responsibility of the medical profession, stating, “Graduation is not merely the end of an academic journey, but the beginning of a lifetime of service. As you step into the world of clinical practice, remember that the most powerful tool in your medical kit is empathy. Treat every patient not just as a case, but as a human being worthy of your utmost care, dedication, and integrity.”

We established KMCH IHSR with the clear objective of nurturing skilled, competent, and passionate medical professionals who can address the evolving healthcare needs of our nation.

In a significant step forward for the institution’s academic growth, the management announced that KMCH IHSR has introduced a new Postgraduate (PG) course effective from the current academic year, further expanding its contribution to advanced medical education and specialization.

The institute prepares its students for real-world medical practice by providing modern facilities and a dedicated faculty team that supports student learning and professional development. Students receive extensive hands-on experience through the integrated 750-bed KMCH Medical College Hospital, which ensures they are well-versed in real-world patient care.
