Knit fair expected to generate Rs. 300 crore business

With participation of buyers and buying agents from different countries, the three-day 43rd edition of India knit fair, featuring Autumn/Winter/mid-summer collection 2017, which concluded at Tirupur today, is expected to generate a business of around Rs. 275 crores to Rs. 300 crores.

“The buyers and agents have expressed their happiness and satisfied with the excellent design and collections displayed in the fair, as 35 buyers from different countries and 125 buying houses / agents have visited the fair,” A. Shaktivel, chairman of Indian Knit Far Association said.

The event attracted buying agents and buyers from Canada, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Israel, UAE, Hessen, Brazil, France, Austria, Uruguay and Italy, as the participants have got good business inquiries and expected a business of around Rs. 275 cores to 300 crores.

The fair was organised by Apparel Export Promotion Council in collaboration with Tirupur Exporters’ Association under the umbrella of India Knit Fair Association (IKFA) and 45 leading exporters from Tirupur, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Coimbatore had put up stalls, Shaktivel said.

An array of apparel categories for the 2017 season were showcased by the exhibitors which include men, women and children wear. Displayed were knitted fleece garments, baby bags, men’s T Shirts, night wears, pajamas, ladies tops with surface ornamentation works, full sleeve knits, sportswear, formal wear, leisure wear, night wear, safety wear and many more for all age groups.

Garments made from viscose, modal, modal spandex, nylon, nylon spandex, silk, linen, wool, wool cotton blends, wool acrylic blends polyester linen were displayed including, cold pigment dyed, stone wash, acid wash, burnt-out, marble finish, reverse print, moisture management finish, water proof jerkins as special finished garments.

The 3D effect prints, sublimation prints wicking finish, cold pigment dyed garments, lava dyed garments, digital printed garments anti microbial finished, anti pilling polyester garments, flock prints were attractively displayed. Cent per cent cotton garments, organic cotton, 100 per cent viscose, cool max, 100 per cent tensel, cotton/ tensel blends, nephi mélange were also showcased.

The 3-three 44 Edition of India Knit Fair for Spring/Summer Collection 2018 will be held on May 10-12 next year at Tirupur, Shaktivel said.
