A district court here today dismissed the bail petitions filed by four of the 10 suspects in the murder of a security guard in the Kodanad estate of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa two months ago.

Jamsher Ali, Jitin Joy lodged in a Kerala jail and Manoj had moved their bail petitions through their advocate, while another suspect Santhosh alias Samy had filed his petition through another lawyer last week.

The petitions came up for hearing today before District Judge P. Vadamalai.

Once released on bail, there was the possibility that the suspects may tamper with the evidence and also there could be law and order problem, the public prosecutor argued.

After hearing the arguments from both the sides, Vadamalai dismissed the petitions.

Police arrested 10 persons, suspecting their role in the heist and murder. They have been lodged in different jails.

While one suspect, Sayan is undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital in Coimbatore, key suspect Kanagaraj, former driver of Jayalalithaa, died in an accident near Salem.
