Kodanadu murder and heist case adjourned for February two

Ooty : Two of the accused in the murder of security guard and also heist in Kodanadu Estate belonged to former chief minister, J Jayalalithaa, Manoj and Sayan today appeared before the District Court here.

The District judge, P Vadamalai, had directed the counsel of the both the accused to produce them this day, when a petition filed by Tamil Nadu government appealing to cancel the bail granted to them in connection with these cases, came up for hearing on January 24.

Manoj and Sayan were in the news recently, when they made charges linking the State chief Minister, Edapadi Palanisamy with the murder and heist at Kodanadu near Kothagiri in Nilgiris district in April 2016, in a video released by former editor of Tehelka Mathew Samuel.

As both appeared before the court this morning, Vadamalai adjounred the case for February two, during which he ordered to produce eight other accused in the murder case, some of whom are in jail and some on bail.

When the Government lawyers and counsel for accused appealed to take up the petition on cancellation of bail, the judge told that the case can be heard on February two.
