Ooty: A district court here today asked the defence lawyer of the accused in the Kodanadu security guard murder case to file a petition seeking copy of the chargesheet in Malayalam during the next hearing.
As the bail petitions of Manoj and Dipu, two of the 10 accused, came up for hearing, defence counsel Shivakumar requested judge P Vadamalai to take steps to provide chargesheet copy in Malayalam, since all the 10 accused did not know the contents given in Tamil in the 400-page chargesheet as they were from Kerala.
Vadamalai asked the lawyer to file a petition in this regard, when the case would come up for hearing on February 2.Meanwhile, Vadamalai asked the two bail seekers, Manoj and Dipu to produce two documents, surety by a blood relative and guarantee by a government staff for granting bail and posted the case for February 2. Of the 10 arrested in the murder of Om Bahadur on April 23 last year at Kodanadu Estate of the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, eight already had been ranted bail.
