Sanjana Menon, an IX grade student at Our Own English High School, Sharjah, is adept at displaying her skills in quiz, drawing, public speaking, and reaching out to the differently-abled children.

Sanjana spends her holidays at her grandmother’s house at PN Pudur in Coimbatore every year between June and July. During her stay here, she visits Aashirwad School for Differently-abled Children at RS Puram where she teaches the inmates, besides donating books and some financial aid.

Browsing books is her favourite pastime and she is keen to take part in competitions, mostly quizzes, and returns home laden with awards and shields. She is interested to do bio maths in grade X and aspires to become an oncologist.

Her list of awards include Sheikh Hamdan Award for the distinguished student -2015, Sharjah, first place in Proud to be an Indian, conducted by Asianet News in 2014, met President Pranab Mukherjee as the youngest participant at the event,

She was the Sastraprathibha Science Contest UAE topper in 2011, and got an opportunity to meet the ISRO chairman and many scientists. She was the finalist of the school quiz competition for the past 8 years, and won 5 first prizes and 3 second prizes. Also appeared in quiz competition called star quiz quarter finals that was telecast on Star Plus, besides participating in many inter school competitions.

As an eco activist, she is a member of SEA (Sharjah Environment Awareness) Committee. She represented her school and received the Sharjah Environment Awareness Award.
