Coimbatore: The ninth edition of Build Intec 2018, beginning here from February 2, will showcase latest technology in the building and construction sector, including Full Gurjan Calibrated plywood made of gypsum board particles.

The plywood, with Iran and Oman technology, was stronger than the available plywoods in the market and not bulge and shrink, Build Intec chairman M Karthikeyan told reporters today.

Similarly, a new type of MSand with more strength would also be on display at the four-day fair to be held at Codissia Trade Fair Complex, he said. There would be display of construction machinery and a waste water treatment equipment with latest technology, he said adding that there would be 300 stalls from 250 exhibitors from across the country.

Since the last edition had business inquiry of Rs 50 crore on the spot and converted into business worth Rs 80 crore, this edition was expected to generate a business of Rs 100 crore, Karthikeyan said.

With GST advantage, more machinery manufacturers from Uttar Pradesh,Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab, New Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala and Tamil Nadu wre participating in the event. V Sundaram, President,Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) said.

On expectations from the Budget, Sundaram said Codissia had suggested the Finance Ministry to bring down the interest rate to 8 per cent, since the banks were flooded with funds.
