Law students withdraw sit-in dharna, exams, classes to function from tomorrow

Coimbatore : As the students of Government Law College here today withdrawing their agitation over the Pollachi sex harassment case, the classes and examinations will begin from tomorrow Thursday onwards.

The classes and exams were cancelled following the sit-in dharna by the students demanding action against the police for leaking the name of the victim and also withdraw the cases against over 160 law students for staging protests for the last two days.

As the students continued their sit-in this morning also, the principal urged them to withdraw the agitation and return to the classes, police said.

After a tripartite meeting between College Management, members of District Lawyers Association and the students, the sit-in was withdrawn, based on which the management released a circular stating that the classes and examinations will be held from tomorrow on wards.
