Lawyers boycott as corporation fails to supply water

A section of lawyers here today boycotted the proceedings in the district courts, protesting against the acute water shortage in the court complex. The supply has been cut as the court refused to heed the Corporation demand for money, sources said.

According to lawyers, over 1,200 lawyers visit the court complex daily and water supply by the Corporation was insufficient.

They condemned the action of the city corporation, which was demanding over Rs 2,500 for a tank load of drinking water, police said.

The lawyers raised slogans against the corporation and boycotted the day’s proceedings.
