Leopard attacks man in village near Ooty

Ooty : A 60-year-old man was seriously injured after he was attacked by a leopard today in a village near here. Sundaraman had gone to graze his goats and was cutting fodder in Thambatty village, some 8 km from here, when a leopard came from behind and attacked him, causing serious injuries on his neck, head and abdomen.
The incident happened around 10.15 am, police said.Hearing his screams, people in the vicinity raised alarm and managed to scare away the animal. Sundaram was brought to the Government Hospital here, police added.
