Ooty : Forest department officials are taking efforts to bring out a leopard cub, which is lying under a cot in a house in a village in Pandalur Taluk in Nilgiris District.
The house owner, Rayin, who returned from work heard a roaring sound coming from inside the house on opening it Tuesday afternoon.
Rayin’s son Naushad, who was along with him noticed a leopard lying under the cot and both ran out and latched the house from outside, police said.
On information, forest department officials with a veterinarian rushed to the spot, they said.
After seeing the leopard, the officials brought two cages and placed one at a window, which is partially open and another at the entrance of the house in Ippadi village.
The officials are also considering to tranquilise the animal, which is about two to three years old or to trap by throwing a net, amidst prevailing tense moments for the last three and half hours., they said.
