Man consumes poison in court complex

A man attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison on the District integrated Court complex on Friday, reportedly over a family dispute. According to police, Vijayakumar hailing from Tirunelveli, had married Deepa of Coimbatore 12 years ago, and said to be jobless for the last two years.
Deepa, working as a professor in Madurai, had difference of opinion with Vijayakumar since then and filed a divorce petition in a court here, which came up for hearing this afternoon. An upset Vijayakumar, who was not willing for a divorce, consumed poison, which he had brought with him.
However, some persons around him, rushed him to the Government Hospital, where his condition is said to be serious. A case has been registered.
