The five Maoists lodged in the Central Jail here were produced before the District Sessions Court today.

They were arrested some three months ago from Karumathapatti on the outskirts and were being produced in the Court here and also in Kerala in various cases.

As the Judge Pongiyappan sought the accused about affixing signature for verification of the documents, reportedly seized by the investigating agency, their counsel told the Court that since the case in this regard was pending before the Madras High Court, they would sign after the verdict.

At this the judge posted the case for October 7. Meanwhile, Shyna, one of the accused, alleged that they were being ill treated and threatened by the Kerala police when in their custody.
